Giridhar is a Ph.D in Civil Engineering, M.Tech. in Water Resources Development & Management from Indian Institute of Tech., (I I T), Kharagpur and completed his graduation in Civil Engineering from Nagarjuna University. He is presently working as an Asst. Prof. in Centre for Water Resources. Dr. Giridhar is life member of many professional organizations in the field of water resources, few of them includes AHI, IEI, IWRA, ISRS, ISTE etc. He has published 25 research papers in National and International conferences and 9 papers in different journals like Journal of Applied Hydrology, Journal of Current science, Journal of Indian Water Works Association, International journal of Tropical Agriculture, International Journal of Hydrological Sciences etc. His research areas include Water shed modelling, rainfall- runoff modeling, RS & GIS applications for water resources development and management and Water quality. He is also TEQIP Assistant coordinator for Institute of Science and technology (IST). |

RESEARCH WORK DONE SINCE TAKING THE FIRST RESEARCH DEGREE
The title of the research work carried out is “SEMI DISTRIBUTED CONCEPTUAL RAINFALL-RUNOFF MODEL”. Actual evapotranspiration Runoff Model (ARM) has been formulated and developed in VC++ language for the estimation of daily runoff for K-11 (Palleru) sub basin of River Krishna in Andhra Pradesh. It contains three modules namely, Reference Evapotranspiration (RET), Actual Evapotranspiration (AET), Soil Moisture (SM) modules for the estimation of daily runoff. |
The following are the objectives of research work, |

To study and estimate RET using the existing equations in the K-11 sub basin (Palleru) of Krishna basin. |
|
To arrive at the daily RET values at the given location by developing appropriate tools. |
|
To compare the performance of different RET equations with FAO-56 Penman – Monteith method. |
|
To prepare Land Use / Land Cover thematic map using ERDAS imagine software. |
|
To calculate watershed parameters in GIS environment. |
|
To formulate ARM and to compute daily runoff using this model. |
|
To develop a program and to calculate daily runoff in SCS-CN method. |
|
To determine daily runoff using STANFORD-IV model. |
|
To compare and correlate estimated runoff from STANFORD-IV model with the estimated runoff by SCS-CN method. |

To compare and correlate estimated runoff from STANFORD-IV model with the estimated runoff from ARM. |
